ABOUT WENDY

The intersection of communications and social movements is my passion. I started my career at Syracuse University, where I studied both Public Relations and Gender Studies. This unique combination of skills enables me to apply thought principles from gender studies, such as positionality and intersectionality, to my work in communications. Understanding how to identify key publics and their emotional drivers allows me to effectively run and promote campaigns that affect positive, progressive change but also generate buzz.

“Social media, at its core, is a tool for growing your community. A viral video is great, but means nothing if you aren’t reaching the right people”

MY PHILOSOPHY

My strategy surrounds the fact that YOU are the expert in YOUR business!

Together, we will create a campaign that is realistic and authentic to your brand and values. Every single post or press release should be issued with a defined purpose and group that it is targeting. We will start off by identifying your key audiences and their emotional drivers to guide us. Then comes the research. I create competitive audits, and audience personas, and gather any industry research. We take a look at what your competitors are doing in the space and highlight potential opportunities they are missing out on. We use this research to create a PR plan that identifies the goals of the campaign and how each type of content accomplishes those goals.

Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment is at the core of my values. I am committed to ensuring that all are not only accepted but celebrated in the spaces around me. I strive to create a space where people are treated as people and not as dollar signs. It is of the utmost importance that people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, races, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations can work and live free from microaggressions and implicit biases. Because of this, I am committed to considering the lived experiences and compounding marginalized identities of all people.
